Is the TV in the living room still up to date? Sensible considerations and alternatives
In the past, the living room was often furnished according to a pattern - a room for the whole family in which armchairs, sofa and coffee table were grouped around the TV. It was the place where people met on Saturday evenings to watch shows like "Wetten, dass...?". Snacks were enjoyed and the events were discussed together.
Devices adapt to their surroundings
Nowadays, modern devices are increasingly adapting to their surroundings, such as "The Frame" from Samsung, which looks more like a painting than a technical device. The simple frame is no longer just a black hole in the middle of the living room, but blends harmoniously into the design of the living room.

Projectors - the modern solution?
Nowadays, it is no longer even necessary to have a technical device on the wall. Modern LED projectors project directly onto the wall or even the ceiling. In the past, the choice between projectors and televisions was mainly a question of price. However, as the price of projectors has fallen significantly, they now offer an attractive alternative. Beamers can project images in cinema format, resulting in a larger picture size, ideal for group viewing of movies or sporting events.
The trend goes as far as complete abandonment
Whereas in the past the diagonal size of the TV could not be big enough, many people now prefer to watch their series on smaller, portable devices such as a tablet or laptop instead of a large screen. This offers much greater flexibility, as favorite series can now be enjoyed on the sofa, in bed or even on a recliner. The living room can therefore be used more for other creative and active activities.
The decision as to whether a television is still needed depends primarily on individual preferences and lifestyle. Some still prefer the classic TV experience, while others appreciate the benefits of streaming on mobile devices or want to do without consumption altogether.
